The Seven-Level Scale
Agree what each level earns, before anyone is on it.
The Reasonability Scale says what is expected. This one says what happens next. Seven levels with zero in the middle — zero is the agreement itself, done as promised, nothing extra. Three levels up are earned recognition; three levels down are consequences that both sides chose in advance, including the bottom one, which is a restart, not a verdict.
Choose one home agreement.
The seven levels will start with guidance for that agreement. Adjust it together.
Review the seven levels.
+3ExceptionalClearly beyond the agreement, sustained across the agreed period.
+2StrongMore than agreed, without prompting.
+1Extra careThe agreement met with one useful extra step.
0As agreedThe normal standard was met. Acknowledge it and carry on.
-1Fell shortPart of the agreement was missed, but it can still be corrected.
-2MissedThe opportunity has passed and cannot be corrected as planned.
-3ResetThe agreement did not work and needs to be rebuilt. This is not a judgment of the teenager.
